To get admission in undergraduate degree in Astronomy, one must have passed 10+2 from any recognised board from Science stream, where Physics and mathematics are mandatory subjects.

So if you are eligible for Astronomy, then you can go for an undergraduate degree in Astronomy, after completing your degree in Astronomy, you can go for the postgraduate degree in same, and then after completing your masters, you can for specialisation in Astronomy and you can become an Astronomer, as to become an Astronomer, a p.hd degree in same is mandatory.

Yes, you can study Astronomy after class 12th. There are many colleges offering bachelor courses in Astronomy like B.Sc. In Astrophysics, B.tech etc. You can pursue these courses and then go for higher studies and find a job in the same field. Few colleges offering Astronomy courses in India are:
