There is no lateral entry system in case of diploma or polytechnic. The student must have to clear POLYTECHNIC examination after class 10th. On the basis of polytechnic ranks. Many colleges offers some seats through management quota for direct entry. But that is not possible for every college.

Lateral entry only possible if you want to do the btech after polytechnic then it is the method.
