Yes you can apply for ews category jain caste category is general

Minority has nothing to do with reservation & category minority is recognition of distinct religion it is not a category. Like all muslims are minority but most of them belongs to obc category and avail obc reservation.

The ews reservation is irrespective of caste and religion it is purely on the basis of economic condition of all general category people of all religion who do not fall into obc and st sc category weather they are hindu muslim sikh christian jain parsi any one who is unreserved or from general category who fulfill ews condition can avail this reservation

Categories are only three i.e general ,obc,st-sc

If you do not belong to obc and st sc and you are

economically weaker than you are eligible for ews

So all those who previously are not covered under obc sc st reservation are eligible for ews certificate if they fullfil crieteria of ews.

So if somebody is denying you he is wrong.

Dear Harsh, EWS is for those who belong to Economically weaker sections of General Category and do not avail any benefits offered for Candidates of OBC,SC,ST. Their annual income from all sources should be 8lakhs per annum. But of Jain Community comes under EWS in States like Karnataka and you can awail this reservation should you meet the eligibility criteria.
