Usually in medical colleges, in the initial years the hostel rooms are usually sharing ones. Separate rooms are usually provided from 3rd year onwards. You can see this even in engineering colleges like BITS too.

In colleges like AFMC the single rooms are provided from 3rd year. If you want a separate room from starting year onwards itself, you can take rooms in nearby pg's too.
