Hey, I am an NRI too!

I chose Indian as my nationality as I had my eyes on Government institutions which have no provisions for NRIs. So yes, You can choose Indian as your option. Both passport as well as aadhar can be used as ID proof, but I suggest you prefer aadhar for the sake of convenience in the admission procedures.

All the best!

Thank you Pratisruti...your approach is clear.  But is it acceptable too from NTA as well as from MCC during counselling.

Hi DivyaShri, if you are a NRI, you should select NRI as your option. As you are a NRI, you either can select to submit Aadhar card or Passport.  Both one of them are acceptable. As you have been pursuing your education abroad, to seek admission in Medical colleges in India, you must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English up to the 12th standard level with 50% marks and their equivalency determined as per regulations of the Medical Council of India and the concerned University.. Good luck.....

Hi Priyanka,  thank you for your prompt reply.  Need further clarification on the subject.  If I select NRI as my nationality, will I be considered only in NRI Quota seats (they are very expensive and we can't afford :)).  What if I  manage to get a decent score of 500+ am I still considered only in NRI Quota?  Request your input please.

Hi Divyashri, you will be considered under the category you chose at the time of filling the application form.

Dear Divyashri, selecting an option is easy but defining that option and explaning how you fall under that mentioned category is important. Cos its just not about affording the education but also you shouldn't be held for any wrongdoing be it innocence or ignorance. I would recommend you going through https://neet2018.net/eligibility-criteria/ for a better understanding of the quota for every category.Once you submit your application whether you select a NRI quota or Indian category, you in a way agree that you self declare that the information is true. This is verified at the time of counselling and if found to be false at any time, the admission of that candidate shall be cancelled immediately and criminal proceedings may be intiated. This is not an attempt to scare you by any means but advising the right way of doing it.
