Yeah you may have different subjects in graduation and post graduation. There will not be any problem if you are not willing to apply for UGC NET. But if you're interested in applying for it, take the same subjects in graduation and post graduation.

Yes, it is not mandatory that you should pursue master's only for your graduation subject. Suppose if you are passionate in one subject, but the same realized only after your graduation, definitely if the university law allows you to pursue masters in that subject, you may go for it. You may visit IGNOU open university site and get the details of the course for which you need to do your masters.

But pursuing masters of same graduation subject will give you more weightage in Job market, You will be knowing about the subject in depth. What ultimately decides is one's own interest and passion towards ones subject. if any doubts, pls feel free to ask.
