Nope….Jee Mains is just the screening test for JEE Advanced.. there will be a cutoff mark in Jee mains test which would be considered as the eligibility to sit in Jee Advanced exam….For Admission to IITS,only JEE ADVANCED marks will be considered….also one should score 75% or be in top 20 percentile in one's corresponding board exam.

so,you have to give the JEE mains examination and must clear it

Thank you

Hello Muskan Ranjan. Thanks for contacting Careers360 and we hope we will be able to answer your query.

Note that admission into IITs is strictly through JEE Advanced. The JEE Mains are just a stepping stone into this highly advanced level of questions in JEE Advanced.

But, please don't get disappointed. I would strongly recommend you to get a good rank in JEE Mains and join one of the premier institutions in the entire country, DTU. It is the best college that accepts admissions through JEE Mains.

For the full list of such colleges, I would advice you to see this Careers360 link:

Hope this helps you out and all the best!

Dear Muskan,
Jee Mains is just the screening test for JEE Advanced.. there will be a cutoff mark in Jee mains test which would be considered as the eligibility to sit in Jee Advanced exam. For Admission to IITS,only JEE ADVANCED marks will be considered also one should score 75% or be in top 20 percentile in one's corresponding board exam.
Therefore,
Only the student who clear JEE Advanced can take admission in the IITs, those who only clearJEE Mains are eligible for NITs but are disqualified for IITs. But for that too you need a very good rank.

All the best
Thankyou

No, you cannot.
The only way to secure a UG seat at an IIT is through JEE Advance.

Although, a few of the best NITs and IIITs have almost if not the same stature as IITs. So if you don't perform as well as you would in Advance, don't loose heart.
All the best!

Yes of course jee mains and then after jee advance are the only way to reach iit's after 12th boards.
