Obviously you will get hostel in first year. See when you go for final reporting at the institute then you need to verify all the documents at the centre. After verifying , your id is made all necessary things are given . at that time itself you are allotted the hostel. You need to visit the hostel, complete the verification then hostel warden allots you a room.

Happy hostel life.

Thank you.

Hello Gopesh.
You can surely get hostel in first year in a NIT. Since, in a NIT, students from all over the country come , the college is bound to provide hostels, even for first years. Talking about the process, there is no such special process. When you will report at the college for admission, during admission process there will be a counter dedicated to hostel facility, you need to go there, show them the documents they ask for and then pay the hostel fees. This was the scene in my NIT ( VNIT Nagpur ), there may be little changes in other NITs.
