As per my knowledge,  no institution takes the original certificates.  They will only ask for the self attested copy/ xerox copy  of the certificate or required documents.

Kindly,  verify once with your institution, as they should not ask for the original documents.

Yes, you will get your original certificates back after completing your final year graduation from that college. All your original certificates will be safe with them till then. You can keep few photocopies with you if in case you want them for any other purpose.

If you want them in the mid of your course it's little bit difficult to get them. For that you need to talk to the college management and they will have some rules and procedures.

See colleges take your original certificates, just to verify your identity and credentials so that they can maintain the same in their own database and after doing so they return the original certificates to the respective students.

With reference to your query,  I would glad inform you that you dont need to worry about the originals , in most of the ugc affiliated aicte approved universities , they gives your originals back within the semester after the document verification . Migration certificate and transfer certifcate you wont get from college and moroever if you will get freshly issued certificate from the college after pass out
