The answer is "YES" you can do internship in any hospital apart from your parent college that is your UG college.  See, there are several things to be noted before doing an internship, these are:

• You must have or completed your community medicine posting in your own college.
• You will not get any stipend there. In fact, you need to pay them a sum of money for doing internship.
• Also, you need to take "NO OBJECTION" certificate from the director of your medical college for allowing you to do the internship.

So these are the things that you must know before doing an internship.

Yes, you can take internship at the hospital that are in contact with your college or you can do the internship by searching the hospital at your own it's up  to you whether you wanna do the internship that is provided by the college or do the internship by searching it at your own. And generally most of the internship period is of 1 year but every institution have its own rules and regulations for providing the internship and for the time duration also.
