Yes , you can appear for NEET Ug while studying BDS and once if you will score as you have expected to get admission in any college according to your choice then you can also drop BDS  , by verifying some rules and regulation of your college . As long as the requirements meet the eligibility criteria you can attempt NEET as many times as you wish to. If you feel that you wouldn't be able to get into deemed institutions for MBBS or BDS programmes, you can easily study BDS from any college and attempt NEET the next year. It would be difficult to manage both competitive exam preparations as well as  your course syllabus side by side but it isn't going to be much of a problem if you are determined.
