Yes, you can. PG biotech is one of the best preparatory courses for that career path, even better if you have UG biotech in combination.

Ideally, you should go for a PhD in Biotech too as it increases the payscale and brings you to the notice of recruiters in top chemical medicine firms like Glaxo SmithKline and Dettol. 

If you would like to teach along with doing research, you can apply for the NET.
