With a rank of 1126 in IIT JAM for Mathematical Statistics, securing admission to IITs is highly unlikely.

For instance, in 2024, IIT Kanpur's M.Sc. in Statistics had a closing rank of 58 for general category candidates.  Similarly, IIT Bombay's M.Sc. in Statistics closed at rank 26.

Given these trends, a rank of 1126 does not meet the past admission thresholds for these programs.
