According to our Modern era there are mainly three main broad categories of science, they are:

1. Natural sciences- tells us about nature and its phenomena, mainly like Physics, Chemistry and Biology etc.,
2. Social sciences- dealing with social and economic life of us, as History, Psychology, Sociology and Economics etc.,
3. Formal sciences- studying abstract concepts of calculation, approximation and logic, which include Computer science, Mathematics, Logical and analytical sciences, and Cosmology etc.,

The disciplines like medicine and engineering uses these sciences as applied sciences.

There  are many debates and controversies regarding Community being a science or not. Still it is not added in the list of Index of branches of sciences, but there efforts ongoing to add Community science in that list.
