Even,in IITs,IIITs,and NITs very few core companies is used to visit for recruitment..Also for civil  engineering stream placement scenario is worse.You can't expect Soo much from core companies.But if you are interested in core companies you have to prepare for GATE EXAMINATION,from where you can get job in government sector..
