Greetings,

From my experience, I'd tell that taking the 5 year course is more better because within a period of 5 years, you can get 2 degrees which would otherwise take 4+2 years to complete. The 5 year course will also be very efficient.

I suggest that dual degree is better than b.tech 4 year.
First of all one needs to keep things in mind
1.) Your Interest
2. )Your department
If someone interested in becoming a researcher or professor  with keen interest in research it is at for such a person who will as it will save a year and ensure a quicker PhD .
Dual  courses are those where the undergraduation and post graduation are combined as a single course and they are typically five years course. So if you Join an Integrated Course in M.tech after class 12th standard then at the end of 5 years you get b.techand m.tech together. It is good to take both degree once. It also save our one year. If you want to do both b.tech and m.tech then you have to do b.tech for 4 year and then 2 year for m.tech. Then it is better to do integrated course in only 5 year otherwise you have to give you 6 years in getting both degree.
If you choose b.tech course , you will get bachelor degree in
Technology after
4 years. If you choose Dual Degree course, you will get both Bachelor's degree
in technology after 4 years and Master's degree in five years. normally if you do
your M-Tech after B-Tech , you will require two years. But if you choose Dual
degree, you get both B-Tech and M-Tech degree within 5 years So, you save
one year if you opt for dual instead of normal master's degree after graduation.
So Both , B-Tech and Dual are fine in IITs. It depends on your choice , whether
you want to do post-graduation course or not.........
Your placement is not depends on your degree actually it depends on your talent. But you should do dual degree if you want to do higher studies.
