See it entirely depends upon the course and university you're seeking admission in, if it's listed among CUET PG 2033 information bulletin, then yes appearing for CUET PG is compulsory and qualifying it as well in order to take admission in the concerned university, however if you have other preference you can opt for the same as well, that means CUET PG isn't compulsory for all universities and its pg courses, there are also specific set of universities accepting CUET PG scores for admission of its pg courses as mentioned below;

hence only in case of above universities and its pg courses, CUET PG scores are being accepted, for any other university the admission process will be different, it may be merit based on the last qualifying examination, or it can be done through entrance tests conducted by the respective university,
