Hii Aspirant for your question, Placements in the college are quite good. Many companies visit the college for placements. Minimum 70-80 companies came to recruit students this year. The packages offered are also quite good. The average package offered is 6-8 lacs per annum. 

Photonics is a high-tech subject which has evolved during the past two decades as a result of the fusion of optical technology with electronics. The subject has been hailed as the science and technology for the next millennium. Cochin University of Science and Technology is one of the first few Universities /institutions in the country where due importance has been given to research, development and teaching activities in photonics and related areas.

Regarding JOBS if you see there are no direct campus placements the university but the are CUSATians placed in good companies like Varroc, HELLA, etc. If you are worried about Job just contact your seniors and they will help you out. Most of the people try for PhD rather than job and there are many CUSATians doing PhD outside India and excelling in the field of Photonics.
