Hello,

Because CAT exam will be held at different slots, CAT scores will be normalised to ensure equivalence in the difficulty levels of the exams for both slots. IIM Kozikhode will normalise the CAT scores using percentile equivalence. Adjustment of location and scale differences of score distributions across different norms and then scores will be normalised. The 20 IIMS and all the Participating Institutions will announce their Cut offs. The cut off is prepared after checking various factors. MBA aspirants will have to apply separately to all the Colleges that accept CAT scores. While CAT score remains the main criteria for selection, IIMs also consider other factors like previous academic performance, work experience, gender and Academic diversity. These scores will be then converted into percentiles for shortlisting and selection purposes. These scores will be then converted into percentiles for shortlisting and selection purposes.
IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta and IIM Bangalore conduct their admission process separately.
The newly established IIMs follow a Common Admission Process which is also called CAP. The shortlisted candidates will have to appear for a Common Written Ability Test and Personal Interview Rounds. A separate Institute wise merit list will be prepared and this merit list will be declared based on individual admission and selection criteria.
IIM Sirmaur, IIM Jammu, IIM Nagpur will release their own merit list according to the CAT score or percentile and profile of the Candidate. There are no further rounds for these Institutions
But other Top B Schools and Other Participating Institutions release their cut offs post the declaration of CAT scores.
For shortlisting for WAT and PI rounds, each I stitution has its own criteria. For example, IIM Lucknow follows this method:
Scaled CAT Score: 60
12th marks: 10
Graduation: 10
Work Experience: 10
Diversity Factor for Academics: 5
Diversiry Factor for Gender: 5
And for final selection, the scores in WAT and PI are also given weightage. The final merit list is prepared and admissions are conducted. For Institutions which do not have WAT and PI rounds, it is direct admissions. Again it all depends on the Institution you want to take admission in.

Dear Rahul, all the new IIMs follow the process of CAP. So once the CAT results have been declared the authorities will release an online notification regarding the CAP registration process. The admission process for IIMs in CAP involves a 2 step process. After the candidates are shortlisted based on CAT composite score under each Category, Candidates have to further appear for Personal Interview and Final Selection. In 2019, the cut offs for shortlisting for Personal Interview have been as follows:

                                                   QA       DILR       VRC       Overall
General, General-EWS           80           80          80              95
NC-OBC                                     60           60          60             78
SC                                              50           50           50             60
ST                                              30           30           30             40
DAP                                           30          30            30             40

Now the final selection os based on Final Composite scire, Personal Interview and Candidate Profile. That looks similar to this:

Category                                                 Weightage in %
CAT score                                                          35
Personal Appearance:
                 WAT                                                   10
                  PI                                                      25
Profile:
               Academic Profile                             10
               Gender Diversity                               8
               Academic Diversity                          4
              Work experience                                8

Weightage of 12th and Graduation marks is as follows:

% Range                        12th                  Graduatiom
<=50                                  0                              0
50.01 to 60                      1                              1
60.01 to 70                      2                              2
70.01 to 80                      3                              3
80.01 to 90                      4                              4
>90.01                              5                              5

Weightage of work experience:

Months                 Score

6 or less                   0
7-12                          2
13-18                        4
19-24                        6
25-36                        8
37-42                        6
43-48                        4
