Hello student ,

Deficiency of vitamin C causes a disease whose name is Scurvy which is a clinical syndrome . It include  bleeding sores, tooth loss, anemia and a reduced rate of healing for injuries.Vitamin C is a necessary nutrient which helps the body to absorb iron and produce collagen.

The main cause is an insufficient intake of vitamin C, or ascorbic acid .Ascorbic acid can be destroyed by heat and during storage, so fresh, raw fruit and vegetables helps a lot to prevent from it .

Hope it will help you !

hello,

Scurvy happens when there is a lack of vitamin C, or ascorbic acid.

The deficiency leads to symptoms of weakness, anemia, gum disease, and skin problems which includes fatigue, inflammation of the gums, small red or purple spots on the skin, joint pain, poor wound healing, and corkscrew hairs

hope that helps
