No, Top ranking colleges will always ask your joint exam.....so join exam is must important

Some colleges like du take addmission by board %
But most of them accept jee main score or take there own exam.

Yes it matters but not a lot...generally private colleges need only 60% in 12th boards....and for IITs/NITs/IIITs or GFTIs 75% is mangdatory...so don't worry about that.........just be prepare for that college's entrance exam....best of luck
