Private candidate - Private candidates need to study on their own they just need to register in the online portal which conducts exams for distance learning for students. They are not attending any classes or goes to school throughout the year. They just sit directly in the main examination.

Regular Candidates - They need to attend school physically throughout the year. And also need to maintain minimum attendance. The syllabus of the respective class is covered by the school. And then they appear for final examination. However regular students have advantage of getting opportunities in different fields like sports, dance, singing etc.
