With reference to your above mentioned query, I would like to tell you that there is a lot more difference between the BTECH Degree and Diploma.

B.Tech is not equivalent to Diploma. Diploma is a 3 year course, which you can do after class 10th whereas, B.Tech can be done only after 10+2.
So, this makes them different from each other.

So, if you would ask me whether I should go for diploma or Btech degree.? I would suggest you to go for B. tech after 12th class as it will provide good placements and knowledge. Many top colleges don't provide lateral entry( Diploma course). so, it is better to give entrance exam after your 12th class to get into top colleges.
