No, diplomas and degrees are not the same levels of certification. Degree holds more than diploma course.

The diploma is a short-term course starting from 1 year to 3 years. While the duration of the degree course is more than the diploma course.

The diploma can be considered as a specialization or a vocational course that more adds value to the degree course.

A degree holder may be preferred over a diploma holder. The degree is the next level of diploma so they are not equivalent.
