Harappan civilisation followed few interesting aspects of religions.Lack of idols in the temples mean that they had their own ways of religious practise. They worshiped Sakti and Siva mostly. Animal worship was also seen. Worship of tree, fire, water and sun were prominent among this civilisation. They believed in life after death. They were polytheistic in religion and their religion was made up of Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. They were figurines that were excavated showing Lord Shiva in a Yoga posture. So historians state that Harappans did practise Yoga. The practise of worship of sacred incense burners was practised. Faith in magic and charms was also seen. They followed ritual bathing. The historians unveiled a seal from Harappa which shows a female figure standing upside down with outstretched legs and a tree sprouting from her womb. Scholars are of the opinion that she symbolises the Goddess of Fertility or Plant Goddess.
