Hello Anshu

Geetanjali medical College, Udaipur is a private college and 15% AIQ seats are reserved only in the government medical colleges.

As per the NEET UG admission criteria, there are 15% All India Quota seats and 85% State Quota seats in all Government medical and dental colleges across the country. Candidates from all over India are eligible to apply for All India Quota seats and rest of the 85% seats in government medical colleges are reserved for the candidates fulfilling the state eligiiblity criteria and for state quota seats, every state declares its own eligibility criteria for admission. Some states require candidates to have passed class 11th and 12th from the state like Delhi and some states require the candidate to be a domicile of the state. Eligibility Criteria varies from state to state.

There are Government Colleges, Private Colleges, Central and Deemed Universities for admission to Medical/Dental Seats.

Government Colleges- There are 15% AIQ seats and 85% state quota seats for admission to Government medical colleges.

Private Colleges- In private colleges there are Government seats (only candidates belonging to the state and fulfill the state eligibility criteria can apply for government seats),

Management quota seats in private medical colleges- Candidates from other states are also eligible for admission to private seats in almost all the states. Some states like Maharashtra does not allow admission to other state candidates.

Central/ Deemed Universities- Candidates from All over India can apply for admission to the Deemed and Central Universities. Some Central Universities also have internal quota.

Eligiblity Criteria for admission to medical seats in Rajasthan is as follows-

  • Candidates must be a citizen of India to apply for admission.
  • One of the parent of the candidate who wish to apply for admission, must be a resident of the state for 10 years or candidate should have studied in Rajasthan for a minimum of 5 years. if candidate is unable to fulfill this criteria, he/she must be a bonafide resident of the state.

So, if you belong to Rajasthan and fulfill the eligibility criteria, you can apply for admission to medical colleges through state quota and if you belong to any other state, you can apply for Management quota seats in Geetanjali Medical College or any other private medical college. However, fee of management quota seats is very high.

Do let us know if you have any other doubt.

Good Luck!
