Dear applicant, in most of the cases when you float or upgrade yourself for higher preferences then if you get if your preferred one your earlier seat is cancelled. But it is strictly mentioned in the application forms of many institutions that once you get your preferred seat, freeze it or else there is no confirmation of your seat, and your next one will get the chance.
