Hello Salim, To answer your question, Yes Muslim people can get EWS Certificate if a person does not belong to any other reserved category such as OBC, SC and ST. The candidate applying for this certificate must belong to the general category and family annual income should be less than 8lacs per annum. The income of the family would constitute all the resources like salary,business, profession,etc. Family must not be the owner of more than 5acres of agriculture land and the residential flat area should be less than 1000sq ft..

If you are Muslim student, then you can apply for EWS certificate until and unless covered under reservation for SC, ST or OBC. SO yeah! you can also apply for EWS certificate. Apart from this you should also satisfy the eligibility criteria as provided below:

• The annual income of the family of candidate should not exceed 8lakh per annum.
• The family should not hold 5 or more than 5 acres of land.
• The family shouldn't have a residential area more than 1000 sq feet.
• The family shouldn't have a residential plot (in notified municipalities) of an area 100 square yards or more.
• The family shouldn't have residential plot (other than in notified municipalities) of area 200 square yards or more.
