All NITs take admission on the basis of Category rank, Home State and Other State Quotas.

if you are appearing for JEE exam, at the time of counselling , you can apply quota(s) for the admission to different NIT's.

according to your question, yes it gives admission to category rank.All NITs take admission on the basis of Category rank, Home State and Other State Quotas.. Only NIT Warangal has one additional Quota as AP State Quota.
