Yes preparing for board examination will help you in clearing JEE mains examination . both exam share common  syllabus.for boards examination you can rely upon NCERT textbook. The difference between JEE mains examination and class 12th examination is that subjective paper is asked in class 12 while some tricky questions or MCQ type questions are asked in JEE mains. However the preparation of board examination is same.

Since the syllabus of jee mains covers almost of the teaching syllabus of class 11th and class 12th.
Hence preparation of board will help you automatically for preparation of jee mains.
However in jee mains only mcq and integer type questions are asked therefore i will suggest you to solve more number of questions of different types and variation in all three subjects.
