Yes a good percentage/score is really very important to get yourself admitted in one of the top universities in the world for pursuing an undergraduate course. The universities clearly want a confirmation letter from the principal of your school that you will surely get a 95%+ in your class 12th boards . For some universities like the Yale they even assess and analyse your academics from class 8th onwards so yes school acads are really important when you are targeting a top university .
