Does NIT tag matter? If yes then how?

The answer to this question is a yes and a no. Yes, because NIT tag matters in terms good placement as recruiters from big league companies would rely on the merit of students from a prestigious NIT.


And no, because at the end of the day your knowledge is all that will matter. Your NIT tag can give you the opportunity to attend placement drives where renowned companies would visit and recruit students, but whether or not you’d be selected will solely depend on your knowledge in the field of your engineering - whatever subject you are pursuing/the respective job you are being interviewed for - you must have a good idea about it. You need to prove your worth to the recruiters, because they want the best students from the lot.


The tag will give you great opportunities, and if you can utilize them well then you will have a secure future ahead of you.
