The answer is no , Potassium and Carbon never react with each other neither is sunlight nor in darkness. No such compound formed by reaction between potassium and carbon has been identified.

This maybe due to the fact that electronegativity difference between potassium and carbon is not sufficient enough to cause an exchange of electrons or cause a chemical reaction.
