Dear Vikhyat, the State Counselling is for students who hold the domicile of that particular State. The 85% seats of Government Medical Colleges and A Category seats of Private Medical Colleges participate in State Counselling. B Category seats of Private Medical Colleges are filled through Management Quota and NRI seats are specifically for NRI Candidates. So if you want to participate in West Bengal State Counselling for Government seats, you either should have domicile of West Bengal or participate in All India Counselling for 15% seats.

Dear aspirant,

According to your query,

Yes it is necessary to be a candidate of your domicile for counselling in admission for government medical colleges in your state. For private colleges a different management quota is applied for outside state candidates in any state particularly.

Hope you find it useful.

Thank you.
