The  Act was published to provide a medical education system that improves access to quality and affordable medical education, ensures availability of adequate and high quality medical professionals in all parts of the country. The act mainly focus on improving national health goals and promoting the medical professionals to contribute in research works and also increasing the standard of Medical systems in India. The NMC Act proposes a common National Exit Test (NEXT) for all final-year MBBS students. The students who clear NEXT will  get the licence to practise medicine and admission in postgraduate courses.  So it will be an entrance exam for PG programs. UG courses won't be affected since there is no change in NEET exams until now. The act has affect on PG courses and also foreign graduates who want to practise in India
