Greeting Aspirant,

To be eligible you must fulfill the following:

  • An Indian Citizen,
  • Age Limit: 1. Flying Branch : 20-24 Years, Candidates having Commercial Pilot Licence is relaxed to 20-26 Years.

2. Ground Duty(Technical and Non Technical ): 20-26 Years

  • Candidates below 25 years of age must be unmarried at the time of commencement of course.
  • Widows/Widowers and divorcees below 25 years of age are also not eligible.
  • Candidates who marry to the date of his application though successful at SSB or medical will not be eligible for training.
  • Those who marry during the period of training will be discharged and will be liable to refund all expenditure incurred on him by the government.
  • Married candidates above 25 years are eligible to apply but during their training period, they will neither be provided married accommodation nor can they live with family.

Education qualification:

  1. Flying Branch: Minimum of 60% in Maths and Physics at Class 12 and
    Graduation in any discipline with 60% or equivalent.
  2. Ground Duty ( Technical Branch ): Passed Class 10+2 with 60% marks each in Physics and Mathematics and four years degree Engineering/ Technology
  3. Ground Duty ( Non Technical Branch): Graduation in any discipline with minimum 60%

There are certain sections in Air Force Common Admission Test. And the eligibility criteria is different for each section. If a candidate applying for flying branch, then his/her age must between 20 to 24. For education qualification, that candidate must have got 60% in Physics and Maths in 12 and 60% aggregate in Graduation in any discipline. For ground Duty both technical and Non Technical, the required age must be within 20 to 26. For Ground duty technical, the candidate must have secured 60% in Physics in Maths in 12 and graduation in minimum 4 years degree or integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering or Technology. Candidate must be a citizen of India.

Flying Branch (AFCAT & NCC Entry) : 20 – 24 years as on January 1, 2021.

Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical): 20 – 26 years as on January  1, 2021.

The DOB accepted by the IAF is that entered in the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate or in a certificate recognized by an Indian University.

Marital Status:

Candidates below 25 years of age must be unmarried at the time of commencement of the course.

Widows/ Widowers and divorcees below 25 years are also not eligible.

Education Qualification:

Flying Branch : minimum of 60% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level.

Graduation with a minimum of 3 years degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks.
