If you want to take admission in any engineering college then 50% is enough but most of the colleges directly said in their notification is that the minimum 60% is must otherwise you will not be eligible. So for the safe side if you score 60% or more then you are eligible to take direct admission in any engineering college only if they accept that.

And if you are looking to take admission in any IIT, NIT, GFTI then you need minimum 75%(not for this year) with entrance exam rank.

And some of the colleges take admission directly on the basis of your 12th percentage so the more percentage you got the more chance is that you get the college.
