The Quality Council of India (QCI) was established as the national accreditation body for professional equipment recommendations in the European Union after consultation with the Council of Ministers, the Writing Committee and the Ministerial Committee in 1996. existence in 1997 by a Cabinet decision as a non-profit organization. Department of Industrial Development and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Department of Trade and Industry, accredited QCI department. QCI's role is to establish and operate a national accreditation framework and to promote quality through a national quality campaign. It operates with its own resources and funds from assurance and investment in quality promotion. It plays the role of the National Accreditation Body (NAB) in terms of a world-class eco-system with the task of creating a third-party testing system for products, services and processes.
