Anna University is a singular authority over all the Engineering colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. There are more than 500 colleges in the state and since they all need a governing authority (that takes care of examinations, certification and other such things) they have been put under the supervision of the University. The association of those colleges with the University ends there. 

Like any state university, Anna University has its own Departments that provide various branches Engineering education. There are FOUR primary colleges that are housed by the University.

College of Engineering, Guindy. [CEG]

Madras Institute of Technology, Chromepet. [MIT]

A.C. College of Engineering and Technology, Guindy. [A.C.Tech]

School of Architecture and Planning, Guindy.[SAP]

The admissions are done on the basis of TNEA so you will have to apply for the same as Anna University will conduct TNEA 2018 counselling for admission to UG engineering programmes at participating universities tentatively in last week of June. Also, if you talk about its fee structure then it is 40,000 per year (approx).
