Hello,
Admission into engineering stream is given through entrance exam like jee mains, state engineering entrance exam or university exam.
For current year, some colleges like VIT,MIT has decided to give admission on the basis of merit.
It is unpredictable what will be the situation in the coming year.
It would be a good option to prepare for entrance exam from now for next year. If there will be provision of admission through percentage then you will do else you will be enough able to appear entrance exam and clear it with good marks.
There might be some changes in regular rules for coming year which NTA will declare officially.
