Hello Aspirant!

BE/B.Tech in Environmental Engineering is a 4-year program. Environmental engineering is a multidisciplinary subject that borrows ideas from a number of different sciences as well as fields of engineering to understand environmental issues and engineer design solutions for these, for example, by creating a landfill or a waste water plant. Typically, a program in this discipline will include concepts from physics, chemistry, and biology as well as civil, mechanical, electrical and chemical engineering. Apart from this, students will also learn about impact assessment, environmental management, and audit. However, most modules will be geared towards developing a comprehensive understanding of different forms of pollution, managing environmental resources and controlling waste. One can pursue M.Tech in Environmental Engineering after successful completion of BE/B.Tech.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

UG: Candidates must have passed 10+2 with minimum qualifying marks in aggregate with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects. Independent entrance tests are also held by the various state, central, and private universities which mostly require 50% as the prerequisite to appear for the test.

PG: Candidates must hold a degree in Bachelor of Engineering/B.Tech in Environmental Engineering along with a good score in entrance tests held for PG program held by the various state, central, and private universities.

Since B.tech in Environmental Engineering is a technical degree and falls under engineering, many colleges prefer JEE scores. It is advised to write the JEE main exam, as the syllabus is similar to many other entrance tests conducted by the universities. For this degree, you have to give either an entrance test or interview, or you have to show your JEE scores.
