it depends on the board. state board gives mark in the marksheet  and percentage is to be calculated by the candidate where as board like CBSE gives gradesheet and CGPA mentioned in the sheet.

It varies from board to board. You can ask your college teacher to help you know how your 12th registered board provides result.
