Forestry Training Institute, Kanpur, was established in 1988 in the erstwhile undivided Uttar Pradesh in Kidwai Nagar, Kanpur. It is an institution for training and management of land, water and forest (C.M.F) in 2001 under the societies registration act.

The institution provides :
•Basic/Induction training organised for newly appointed field employees in the Department.

•Organising Refresher Training of the Field Officers/Employees promoted from the Range level.

•Land, Water and Forest management training / research with the help of C.M.F Institute.

The courses or research oppottunities includes (i) Increasing productivity of Forest through Tree Improvement Programme and  (ii) Ecology and pollution-related studies.
