The Golgi body (Golgi apparatus) in a eukaryotic cell works like a packaging and processing center. It receives proteins and lipids from the endoplasmic reticulum, modifies them (like adding sugars), sorts them, and then packs them into vesicles. After that, it sends them to their correct destinations such as the cell membrane, lysosomes, or outside the cell.
