Jee mains is conducted twice in one year and there will be shifts in each session . There will be total 10-11 shifts of the paper.

Coming to your query, you can give either of the two attempts if you want. You can give the second attempt in April after skipping the January attempt. You can also give only January attempt and can skip the April attempt if you have scored good and satisfied with your marks in jee mains.
