A probationary officer or PO Exam is taken by various banks collectively or independently for the post of Assistant Manager. He is a Grade I Junior Manager called as Scale I Officer. IBPS (Institute for Banking Personnel Selection) takes exam for 21 Banks whereas SBI, Canara and other private banks take their own exam. A PO is trained in various fields during their probation period. MS-CIT or any other computer course is not mandatory for Government Bank Manager.
