Hi aspirant,

GP rating means General Purpose Rating course, Which helps to build your career in merchant navy. It will teach you both deck and engine machineries also. You have to pass in 10 th standard is enough to get into this course. You can get good salary and experience in this 6 months course. It will be a good course who loves to work in ship.

I would like to inform you that GP rating means General purpose rating. And all the students who have passed 10th examination can persue your career in GP rating course. These are mainly divided in three categories rating and they are named as Engine room, Deck and Catering. GP rating is the least qualification to work in an indian as well as foreign shipping companies.GP rating course will also opens the door of opportunity to you in Merchant Navy.
