Haven:'t been able to clear JEE MAINS, Now what should I do? Should I drop a year? or Should I go a private college?

Take 7 day stress test. Study 8+ hrs every day, ban the usage of mobile even if it helps in studies sometimes. after seven days extend this routine to 14 days if you feel that if you can continue this routine and able to crack jee with flying colors (do not think of cutoff).
Then its worth a shot.

I am going through same situation. If you believe in yourself that you can qualify JEE MAINS with a high score then you may drop else get the best college according to your rank and keep preparing for your next exams. Don't check your intended marks that you are going to get as it demotivates for next exam and you will be stressed and sometimes feel pity on yourself.
