Yes, you can join some colleges by giving an undertaking if you have a compartment in Maths. But this depends on the college's rules. Many colleges allow provisional admission with an undertaking that you will submit your passed result later.

You should contact the college where you want to take admission and ask if they accept students with a compartment through an undertaking. If they allow, you can take admission and submit your passed result after the compartment exam result is out in August.
