I would not lie to you as 12 class marks are always the important ones opting any field in future.If you have a good interest in your branch CSE start working on programmes, learning different launges which can now days can be done online.

Being a engineer you are still very smart among various, though your college must not be good but still.

'Ride as much or as little, as long or as short as you feel. But ride'. So keep on working hard during these college days, maintaing a good CGPA would be a great help in placements. There will always be some problem but dont stop.
